Minutes to Midnight

Yeah, I am talking about the latest Linkin Park album released about a couple of months back...Liked most of the songs...some have a good acoustic touch...have been listening to the tracks for quite sometime now...especially whole of this week. Curiously, this album has a "Parental Advisory" rating!!!I guess it's because of the use of the f-word in a couple of the songs.(Didn't have an idea of this kind of censorship on music albums!!!)

Just for the sake of it, I was thinking about the genre to which LP belongs. I am not an expert on the numerous categories of music, so it's difficult for me to put this band into any specific genre(I mean even metal has so many 'head-banging' variations). Though it started as a Nu Metal/Alternative rock band, but I guess with this album, it has become more of pop-rock. And I hate those shinoda rappings(that makes it rap-metal...or rap-rock !!!) (only exception is 'in the end' ). This album, too has two 'rap' songs...but who cares....it has got Chester....and it has it's own distinct sound(albeit this album is somewhat different from the older ones) and as long as LP keeps producing music that can accompany you on drives along the emotional highway, they will definitely continue to 'rock'.

My favourites:
In Pieces[awesome lyrics(I wish I'd written those!) & sound...loved the guitar solo]
The Little Things Give You Away
What I've Done
Valentine's Day
No More Sorrow
Shadow of the Day(Sometimes beginnings are not so simple, Sometimes goodbye's the only way.....)
